Re spark plug chart of March 25/06 post.

Would someone tell me which plug is the right one?

Chart calls for a QL78YC plug in 120-130-135-140 Loopers from 1994-2001

Bombardier chart calls for QL82YC for 1995 130 Looper, which plug is rite for the 1995 130 Looper was there a change from the 78 to the 82 ? Thanks.

Well, will comment and say they BOTH work, but I prefer the 78's. I think the guru's have differance of opions on the subject as well....

I don't know what year Bombardier plug chart you are looking at, but the ones I've seen say QL78YC plugs.

OK, that's not a BRP spark plug chart, it is the old OMC parts list, that just like service manuals, are not updated and may be obsolete soon after printing, that's why you have to use the factory's annual Parts and Accessories Guide as the officail spark plug chart as it has the latest info.

I've posted the history here before. Back in around '95, OMC and Champion set about updating plug recommendations. They started with the QL82YC, but found out the 225 could not use that hot a plug. To keep things simple, they then changed all looper motors, 40hp and above, to the QL78YC plug.

Now that I have carpal tunnel syndrome, I'll sign off.
