after what seemed to be the longest winter ever, I can finally say that I'm going fishing! and it won't require a 24" rod, heater and little hole! See you all next week.

No kidding.... what the hell.... did you find open water somewhere?!? I'm probably heading out this weekend to the slough. It's open. All the ponds, lakes and backwaters are still solid but I've caught bass in the slough in similar conditions in years past. Just wanna get a line wet more than anything.... that's if the rain can hold off for a few hours this weekend![]()
Since you had such a terrible weekend Joe, I thought I would post a picture just to make you feel better. Went to Lake Newton in Illinois. Cold, windy, lots of pressure. Still caught some good fish, two over 5 1/2 a few fours and some three pounders in there too. Found out I would have won big fish at the tournament, not too bad for never fishing there and getting a bigger fish then all the locals![]()
now, if only I could start every season with two over five pounds......
oh, and how do you go south and get twenty degree cooler temps? Temps barely got above 40 and find out here at home they got up to 60.
