    Corallville & the Iowa River.

I'll post the pics tomorrow night. Went to the reservoir last night to take some pics. Downright scary. Iowa City is already a mess and it's gonna get a whole lot worse. They let us walk right out on the spillway and it was an eery feeling. It was about 6" below the spillway and expected to go over tonight at midnight. Got a good look at the release and it is just amazing. They were releasing 20,000 cubic feet of water a minute (minute or second, I can't remember). The power of that water was frightnening. I've got a bunch of pics and I'll get them posted tomorrow. I also heard they are expecting Highway 61 north of Wapello to be closed as the water will go over the road thursday. I'm gonna need a detour to get to work . I'll keep snapping pics as this happens. Definitely some historic events happening right outside our doors!

They've closed the Iowa river below Coralville to the Hills access as of tonight. On Coralville they were putting in the barriers above the spillway. There were a couple of boats on Coralville but they were run off. I'm guessing they were from a marina somewhere. As of today there are no accesses to Coralville. MeHaffey bridge was the last remaining access but the water went over the road and they shut it down as well. But I'd bet there's gonna be someone somewhere who's gonna make an example of themselves .

If it's anywhere near the river it will be.

We're just as bad up here, many small towns are being evacuated tonight. Some of the bridges in waterloo are being closed tonight, gonna be tricky trying to get to work tomorow as I have to cross the Cedar River which is more then 10' over flood stage here in town.I feel bad for the folks in Parkersburg, first the F5 tornado two weeks ago and now the folks left are getting flooded out. to all affected by the bad weather.
