Rock Creek report - June 2

I was visiting my folks this weekend in Newton and went to Rock Creek with a buddy from 5:30 till 11 AM. The water clarity was better than I expected following all the rain, almost clear by the dam getting murkier up lake. Fishing was slow, 6 fish total with only 2 keepers. The best fish was 18". All of the fish were caught on soft plastics fished shallow with most of the action between 10 and 11 AM. Probably could have stayed and caught more but other duties had to be attended to. The water is up about a foot or two above where it usually is due to all the rain and probably had a negative effect on the fishing. Probably the slowest day I've had on Rock Creek in 20 years. Good luck to all the locals when you fish there, for me its back to PA.

Thanks for the report! Hopefully it gets a lot better in the next few weeks. We have a tournament there first weekend in July.

I'll be checking in to see how you do. How many boats do you expect?
