    FITCH Plug replacement.

I experienced problems indexing the QC12PEP Champion plugs in my 04 250hp Evinrude today. Followed the Service manual to the letter. Got 4 out of 6 plugs to work. Two of the plugs could not be used on either side. Like the book says if they don't fall into the described area the plug is not usable. Just a heads up for you people running the big Evinrude. I had to reinstall two old plugs until I can get somemore in. I have had people tell me they allways work on the other bank so just use them on the other side. Bulls@#$ Can't just buy 2 because the two you get may not be usable on the side you need. Just ordered me 6 more. Next time maybe I can find 6 out 10 that work as designed. Nobody carries gaskets for spark plugs so if you screw up you can use the cheapest plug gaskets such as lawn mower plugs. Good torque wrinch is a must. Hope this helps someone.

    Re: FITCH Plug replacement. (lardw)

Welcome to the BBC and thanks for posting the info.

The plugs will not always work in the other bank of cylinders.
