    Help!

Ok, here's the deal I have a Viper 188 with a 200 E-Tec HO. I was running 2 1/4 below pad with 8" of set back. Prop is a Mazco 27P HP4. With this set-up I was at 69.7 GPS with full tournament load and 5600 RPM's. My water pressure guage went bad so I had a new one put in. Had the boat out and couldn't keep any water pressure. Guage showing about 10 PSI. I lowered the motor to 2 1/2 below pad. PSI now showing less than 10 no matter what RPM I was running. Is this a guage issue. I hope it is because with that 1/4" drop in motor height I lost 4 MPH and started to get some chine walk. Regardless I'm starting to worry that the ideal set-up which was 2 1/4" below pad won't work with my E-Tec because I wasn't getting adequate PSI at that height either. I was right on the edge.... about 12 PSI. If it isn't a guage issue does Evinrude make a scoop for the water intakes. The boat performs awesome with this set-up but I've got to find some water pressure. Sorry this is long but I'm at my wits end trying to fine tune this set-up.

Water pressure on the E-Tec will be around 10-12 PSI at WOT.

What is concerning me though is that I wasn't getting anything over 10 regardless of what RPM I was running. From hole shot to mid range to WOT I was at 10 PSI. Idle was showing 3-4 PSI. Does Evinrude have low water scoops like I've seen on the mercs?
