    tilt and trim

My 02 Rude 225 ho has water and metal shavings in the pt&t tank. I was just wondering what some of you might think it is and what it might cost to get fixed. Thanks.

The shaving are probably from the tilt cylinder area. The unit will have to be disassembled and checked out to know what it will take to repair. If the unit is still working, you may be allright. Sometimes a new unit is required.

    Re: tilt and trim (rudetech1)

I ended up just having to get the seals replaced, so it wasn't nearly as expensive as I had originally feared. Thanks for the advice rudetech1.

Check the condition of your Tilt ram and trim rams for abrasion, you may have to reseal again in the future and a tilt ram will be $$$$$ ugly.
