i have a stratos 201 pro with the 250 hpdi on it and i get 77.8gps with a 27 vmax series prop what would i get if i went with the phase 3 kit and gear case mod and light weight flywheel. and how reliable r these parts cause i believe in foot to the floor all the time.and is there any thing else i can do to get more out of her.and also on plane i get 11 psi of water pressure what can i do to fix that.
The Phase 3 kit will give you an additonal 70 hp. This should equate to roughly 7-8 mph. Doing the lower unit mod will definitely improve water pressure at WOT, not to mention allow you to run the motor a lot higher on the transom. You might also see a small top end improvement with the lightened flywheel, but it mainly helps with acceleration and mid-range.....basically allowing you to get to your max rpms quicker.
Beside's the Phase III kit and the flywheel, the only other thing you could do is have the block ported and blueprinted. This involves hand grinding on the exhaust and transfer ports in the cylinders to boost hp. However, it requires you to tear the powerhead all the way down to the bare block....but its worth probably 20 hp.
