    hpdi lower unit on 3.1efi-results

Just thought I would share. I have a zx225 with a phase II 225 3.1efi. The boat has 4 big batteries, dual consoles, packed with fishing gear, 50gal of fuel and one person(me). I am running a 27tempest+. I just put a hpdi lower on it and it looks like I picked up a 2mph with out changing my jackplate. It is now running 5800rpm and 78mph gps at wot with 25# water pressure. I did not have time to play with the jackplate(had to get back for LSU game) but I should get more rpm and speed when I get to play with jackplate. Also the temp was 73 degrees with a light wind( with a little less wind and boat traffic it could have been a little faster) . The handling was a lot better with the hpdi lower. I have several props to try also . When I get time to play with it some more I will let you know the outcome. Looks like it will be money well spent.

You may not have moved the jackplate, But the HPDI LU is 1 in shorter and your running 1 inch higher now.

Yea I know but I have enough water pressure to go a little higher. One of the props I have to try is a 26TXP, does it need to be run higher than the tempest?
