    Hydrotec and fuel Octane

    Hey guys,

Have just bought a 210 Blazer with 250hpdi hydrotec phase 3 and was wondering what the best fuel would be for me to run it on. It seems most of you use 87 but in Oz the lowest we have is 91 and we can get up to 100RON at the pump. Also you guys talk about ringfree and sea foam a lot but I have never seen or even heard of anyone using a product like this in their 2 strokes?

    Thanks, Matt

Depends on the heads you have... probably 89-91+

I ran the same type of rig you have. With the ethanol issues, I chose to run 91-93 and ring free in every tank.................

Not exactly sure on the heads, I know they have had some work done by hydrotec.

At this stage we still have ethanol free fuel, Not sure for how much longer though.

21XDC posted a link to some other de-carb additive, I think on the other Yammie forum, I'll look for it. I would think you could find some sort of de-carb additive down there, probably help to use full synthetic oil as well.

Thanks for the link craigs06, I'll chase that one up.

Ok I found some ring free in Aus but it $36 for a 355ml bottle which is about $25USD does that sound right? and how often do you use it?

Myself and a good many others use Sea Foam. I try to run in it in mine every couple of tanks.

Re: Hydrotec and fuel Octane (blair)

My understanding (from having P1 back when)...that the HP heads always require 89-91...I ran 89 and it went well...74.4gps well for a 200 V-Max...
