Wayne, I was wondering which yamaha engine would you say is the best base for all the mods to hang on a bullet 21'. What i'm asking is if I get a new hull and decide to hydro tec it and i want it as strong as possible but still reliable for tournament fishing should i look for a 200,225,250,300 hpdi or older ox66? thanks

Good question, I'm in that same situation. Currently own an '03 250 OX66 and like it.

no question.........300 hpdi This one has the right ecu, water cooled intake, right porting, etc

thanks, thats what i wanted to know, i figured it would be the ox66's because most i've heard of have had little trouble out of them. and they run pretty good, they may like the gas a little more though.

i guess if i got the 300 hpdi and put the merc sportmaster lower on it and a few other things it should be able to run with the merc 300 xs or 300 x.
not trying to step on toes but i'm thinking about changing to yama. because of your work.

merc. beat me out of about 6 months warranty and luckily i never needed it!
