    Sucking gas

My 250Vmax 2003 non hpdi drinks gas my fishing partners cant belive how much gas I use in a tournament most of my running (70%) is at 4500-5000 rpm 50-60 mph and I will burn most of a 38 gallon tant in a trip. Everyone that has fished in my boat sayes it used twice as much as there boats with 225-250-300hp motors is there anything to check or ajust it runs great idles a little ruff almost like a mis but hit the gas and it runs fine what do you think

    Re: Sucking gas (storm 22)

You need to go wot all the time... You will get where your going alot faster and will cut down on the running time of the engine. This should save you alot of gas...

Mine burns gas pretty fast too, I think you might check the tps adj for the rough idle. You also might try a 3 blade prop with low slip numbers like a txp. It may help a lil' bit.

Agree...3,500 or under saves the most fuel...or throw a friend overboard...either works.

Yep big motors(non HPDI) and heavy boats = poor gas mileage!
