Elite angler power load in Michigan?

Lake St. Clair BassCam | Bassmaster

in this video at about the 4:05 mark, it seems one of the anglers was power loading. You can see him in the background approaching the trailer and hear the motor revved up. Am I crazy with this assumption or what? He was up the ramp too fast to not power load. You guys that were at the ramp, did they all winched their boat up the trailer?

First someone oversleeps, and now this. They're ruining fishing for everyone.

Why? Looks like they back down he slid it on and pushed up to the bow stop. Then truck pulled out. To me that's not power loading to me. Power loading is when they power super hard and leave in gear as they go up front to which up or very hard spraying water and banging the bowstop.

The ramp does not look that steep. And yes he drove the boat up to the roller and held the gas while the truck pulled away. As far as winching, that is for blown engines only.

The ramps at St. Clair are made to load manually so you don't have to gun it hard to get the bow hook eye to the roller.
I don't like that law either but regardless, it is a law and a ticket every time you get caught. Maybe these high profile events get special privileges us non-jersey wearing guys don't get.

Are all ramps that way? I seen the signs next to anglers point, but dont recall brendenburg or that other one by the mile roads having signs? I mean i put in and stay in for days but just curious.

Explain the purpose? First I've ever heard of such a law.

It can create a wash hole at the edge of the slab, which then can cause the slab to shift, split, or crumble.

Very common up north. The intent is to reduce guys blowing a big hole out where the concrete ends forming a hard drop off.

I wish they would pass a law on Kentucky Lake that it is mandatory to "power load" unless your boat motor is "broken."

    Calling? I'm thinking a BBC-endorsed petition with 100,000 signatures.
