My motor trim reads 2-3 bars when trimmed fully down. It moves up and down correctly with the motor. The plastic arm that moves with the motor moves smoothly and freely. is there any way to adjust it or am I stuck replacing the sensor on the motor? I have tried to pull the sensor off, but the screws won't budge.

Probably busted, the plastics are bad about that. Call Carol at C&O Marine and get a metal one. Less than 10 bucks.
No way to adjust , i know of. Either live with it or get you a new on, thats what i had to do.
If you push the arm on the sensor in the direction it rotates when trimming down will the gauge read full down? When triming up where does it go? There is a lever that goes around the steering tube that moves the sensor is yours plastic or metal? The plastic one has a pin or tab that sticks out of it and into the steering tube so you can't adjust it. But if you get the new metal one you can bend this tab out of the way and move it to adjust it. I have never got one to read exactly right. If its right on the down side it won't read right at full up trim.
