225 vmax

I just got a new to me vmax and have a few questions I was hopeing you guys could get me answers. Model # vz225tlrc. What's the max rpm? What's the best wot rpm I want run at ? Is this a 3.3 or 3.1 and is it a ox66 as I've heard alot of them called.

If it is an ox66 its a 3.1 litre.I have a 99' 225.The max rpm is 6100-6150.It will run best propped at 58-5900rpms.

How would I know if it's a 3.1 there are no numbers on the side of my cowling like I've seen on some

Does it say HPDI or OX66 on the cowl. VX is the OX66 and I think VZ is the HPDI. I had a VX225TLRA... 2002 Vmax 225 OX66 3.1 Either motor hit rev limiter at 6125 or 6150 RPM. Like ken said, I had mine propped for 5.8-5.9K RPM

What year is it....the engine I mean????? I think in 06 they came out with the hpdi.....pre that they were all o66 at 3.1L I believe....

The motor was made in 2003

Correct, VX is the OX66 in 2003 and VZ is the HPDI. Both say V Max on the cowling.
