    2004 HPDI Maintenance

I recently purchased a 2004 HPDI 250. The powerhead was replaced just before I purchased w/ a series 2. I am approaching the 60 hour mark - what maintence should I be looking at in the near future? I have replaced the plugs, changed foot oil, changed fuel/water separator, and water impeller along with lower and upper seals.

Can someone give me a general maintenance schedule at hour intervals? I've read the manual just want some hands on experienced guidance as well.

Also, how can I tell if the oil pump has been upgraded that I have read so much about?

    Re: 2004 HPDI Maintenance (jbankston)

You need to find out if the replacement power head was a long block (fully dressed). If it was then the series 2 has the updated oil pump. If not, have your serial number on the bracket checked out by Yam. Change the filters annually. Every 2-3 years have your injectors cleaned and flow tested and high pressure pump screens replaced. Personally, I use sea foam and startron for fuel additives and gas from a busy station.
