VRO rebuild , replace , or other options?

94 150 intruder. I rebuilt carbs, new fuel lines, new gaskets all the way to the reeds , and new Carson reeds. Got it all back together and it would bog around half throttle.did not do this before i rebuilt the carbs and installed new bowls Seemed to be the throttle position not an rpm deal. So I took it to a shop. He swapped out power pack, and stator. Checked all coils and wires. Now he thinks its the vro. The oil side has been disconnected. Does this sound like it could be my problem? He told me that it could not be rebuilt and a new one was in the high $400 range.

Better find someone who knows how to troubleshoot a motor and not swap ignition parts and then think it's the "VRO."

Just for ha ha's when the carb bowls got replaced, did the High Speed orifices get removed from the old bowls and installed in the new carb bowls?

Ok the high speed orfice..... Is there something behind the big slotted screw???? I did switch the slotted screws over to the new bowls. They did not have the seal on the old bowls but I put the seals on the new bowls. If there is something behind that screw that needed to go on the new bowls. That's probably my problem

The srew at the bottom doubles as a drain and as access to the high speed jets. I hope you have your old bowls still around
