20hr service?

I need to have my 20hr service done on my F90. I was told by the dealer that they were going to change the oil and filter and gear case oil. If that is all that's involved can I do it myself and not have to worry about a future warranty claim being denied because my first service wasn't done at a dealer?

Yep. Keep receipts for the parts and oil and make a note in your owners manual of the date you did it.

Yep, that's all there is to it. I just did the first service on my F70 a few weeks ago. So easy a caveman can do it

actually the oil filter is not recommended for change at 20 hrs, not till 100 hr service, not gunna hurt for sure, but not necessary for change unless something is out of the ordinary

Why would someone every want to do an oil change and not change the filter? I changed mine when I did the 20 hour service and it will get changed every 100 hours thereafter.

just stating it by the book? although i have been doing this a long time, i dont pretend to know more than yamaha , if they say it's good " i'll say it's good"

I took mine to the dealer for the 20 hr just so it was on record and if anything ever poped up later where it was said it wasnt broken in correctly etc i could say why wasnt it caught at the dealer at the 20 hr service

I received confirmation from a Yamaha rep that it was not required to have the service done at the dealer.
