    Is this true

    yamaha mec told me that my 2004 250 hpdi cuts back to 4 cyl when in neutral. I had not heard of that on an outboard .

    Not sure i like it . It idels a little rough untill i pull it in gear . Then its real smooth mec said thats why.

    Doesn't idle on all 6 cyl. unless it's in gear

    You lose spark on cylinder 2 and 3 when in netural fuel is still there just no fire.Thats how they control idle.
