    Sho temps

I have a freind that is looking at a new boat with a sho and hear about them not Heating up alot. Would a motor cover that you can run with help get the motor temp up?

    Re: Sho temps (ssbassman)

I don't think so as the cooling is provides by water flow and water temp. Air cooling is minimal at best. Now I wouldn't insulate the cowl to make a point but I am sure that 97% of the total engine cooling comes from the water flow passages in the engine cooling system including oil cooling...

After breakin, running the engine relatively cool is probably an advantage!

+1 on the water flow through the engine. Controlled by the tstats on this engine. Covering the engine would only raise the under hood temp. They will run about 140- 144 degrees at WOT.
