    $95 strainer - seriously?

I did my filters, all of them looked just like the new ones, except the strainer was pretty plugged up. I figured a 10K+ motor, 5 years old, may as well be safe than lean it out and burn it up.

Well, I took apart the strainer, cause I have NEVER seen a canister filter that costs $90, except maybe on a Porsche 911.

its almost black inside, so it was due.

I bet you can find an aftermarket one for half the price and use couple hose clamps. Yamaha is very proud of that little $5 POS.

well, replaced all the filters, and I REALLY appreciate the secret ones sent, and the lift pumps and man, it really did make a difference. Not sure which one of the 5 things I did helped, but it is so much smoother, I cannot believe how bad it was.

If your engine is tough to start, Idles rough or surges when idleing, or does not purr when its in idle, I would suggest looking at the filters.

That canister one was by far the worst, i know its $90 but man, it was almost so plugged up I could not blow air through it even after i dried it out.

Thanks for the pics and all the help, probably saved me $400.

That isn't the only piece they're proud of!
