    JASPER MARINE

Has anyone heard of JASPER MARINE or what kind of quality their Remanufactured powerheads have? Just curious my extended warranty people will not pay for a new powerhead from Yamaha. Their only option for me is to go with Jasper. Any feedback would be great.
    Thanks

If that is the same Jasper that rebuilds car and truck motors, and I believe it is, they do awesome work, or at least they did a few years back when I used their products. They have a great warranty program too.

    Re: JASPER MARINE (rangerbobber)

I bought a Jasper motor for my Ranger pickup along with one of their transmissions because of the 3 year 100,000 mile warranty. I went through 2 of their transmissions and the first motor before I got the problem fixed. Basically I was cracking flex plates because the dowel pins on the motor did not align the trans properly. The problem went away on the third trans and the second motor but then they said you no longer have a warranty because we can not see where our parts caused the problem. Jasper warranties are worthless all they have to do is inspect and say we did not cause, read the fine print, they wrote themselves a get out of jail free card and you will lose if they dont want to honor the warranty. They tried to tell me my starter could be busting the flex plates, I put the same starter on the new motor and have had no problems since. I guess they figured that since they had not got paid for a motor and 2 transmissions they would cancel my warranty. Just a heads up if you think you are really getting a warranty. By the way not one of those transmissions lasted a 1000 miles.
