Results of new FXP 26 Prop

My FX 20 came with a 27 T1 on my 250 SHO. I could only turn 5500 rpms in the hot weather. The FXP 26 brought me up to 5900 after I raised the motor 1/2 inch. At 5900 rpms it hit 76 mph with full tanks, tackle and my 240 lb butt. The prop helped a bunch. The hole shot is incredible.

Here is some follow up information on the FXP Prop.

I really like reading on how it keeps the bow lift down. Seem very similar in that aspect to Fury Props on my boat. I'm getting that itch.

Whats the difference between the FXP and a TXP? Barrel? Cup?

Re: Results of new FXP 26 Prop (Rebel1)

I called Turbo yesterday and they can't help me dial in the best matching FXP prop beause they have no reference with Fury props. Not a negative but a reality. They were very helpful but I ended conversation not knowing for sure which prop to get. Has any Turbo FXP users spun a 26 Fury? If so can you suggest which FXP best matches up to the 26 Fury. That would be very useful. I'm not sure which prop is best for my boat. I'd like to get the FXP since Turbo is owned by Yamaha. You never know if you ever throw an ear how that OEM warranty will play out. Yep, like to keep it in the family. Maybe I'd get even better performance with the FXP too. From the buzz I researched and read the FXP has the lower hole shot bow rise. I really like that. Also, it's designed to match higher motor heights. That is another SHO attribute. So there are multiple motivations to get this prop for my personal use. I did learn from Turbo you'd loose 4% hole shot performance going from 26FXP to 27FXP. I have no reference in relative terms those pluses or minuses. If someone has information on that do share.

I was informed that the FXP was designed specifically for the FX20/SHO setup. What is the weight of the FX20 boat? My BassCat Eyra is a 20'2" boat. My boat weights 1725 lbs.

I'm turning 26 Fury at 6176 RPMS (best WOT to date in summer heat) and I think it will not be enough prop in the winter season. So if you have Fury experience and have the FXP let me know, 26FXP or 27FXP.

+1 on my Blazer I went by and spoke with Scott at Brech, Monday. He told me it would be about 3 weeks before he could get any of the FXP props. If someone doesnt nail it down first, I just might be the first test dummy for us. Im thinking 27 for me.

On the Blazer 625/SHO combo, you should need a 27 FXP. Fly, I think you will need a 27 as well, due to being able to run the FXP at higher propshaft heights than the Fury.

Re: Results of new FXP 26 Prop (southern_gt)

Yea, I'm right behind you. Got a prop up for sale right now. As soon as it's sold I'm calling Scott to order me a Turbo 27FXP. What I learned was the Turbo cylinders are not as large as Fury or T1's which will in turn should spin more RPMs. So 27 FXP race begins. Good Luck and hope it works out for you. The real fun begins for me in late October for some low 50° early morning temps. I've got a number in mind but will hold my cards close to the vest on that one. If I can get boat to handle safely at 1" below pad with 27FXP and get RPMS's up to 6000-6100 rpms it will be interesting. All things being equal safety first.

Re: Results of new FXP 26 Prop (Flyswatter)

The Turbos spin less RPM than any other props in the same pitch, due to be stiffer in pitch than other props. A 26 TXP is equal to a 27 Fury or T-1 in pitch and will smoke each on top with the right set up. The FXP has a larger barrel for better holeshot, which was the main complaint on the TXP, and it shares the same blade design for great top and handling.

I just took my 27 T1 off and put on the new FXP 26. The barrel is somewhat SMALLER on the FXP than the T1. I am not sure of the actual dimensions but when I get home this afternoon, I will look.

Well, for my perspective I have a 27T1 on it's way for me to benchmark. When I do that I'll revisit with the Turbo guys. One things is for sure. The current exchanges are as much fun as standing at the top of the mountain.

What rpm difference are you seeing between the 27T1 and the 27FXP?

Re: Results of new FXP 26 Prop (tt400)

That is a very good question. I just sold my prop. I'll be getting a 27T1 today or tomorrow. I'll put it to it's paces this weekend. That should give me very good data to evaluate. One step closer.
