    ouch stumps can hurt

    hit a stump last week. fished the remainder of day, but found good surprise when I put boat on trailer. shop dropped lower unit and prop to send to repair shop. called later and told me the prop shaft was bent. advised meto replace lower unit. 2960.00. can you not repair or replace prop shaft. yamaha 225 hpdi

    Why would you pay to have it repaired? I would call my insurance company and let them know what happened. May take a little longer but at least all you will have to be out of pocket is the deductible versus the entire bill.

    I bent my prop shaft on a stump 6 years ago and the mechanic straightened it out and has been fine ever since,cost me 50.00. I gues depending on how bad its bent if they can fix it,you may ask.

    +1...went through this last October...got the new LU for my deductible for my ox66 EFI. Unfortunately, my powerhead blew a month or so later and replaced with an HPDI.
