Replaced fuel line pump ball and motor now runs great! Go figure?

Well after many hundreds of dollars, 6 hundred to be exact, problem with my yamaha 250 hpdi turned out to be the fuel line pump ball. Dealer replaced all the filters, and was ready to replace the high pressure pump next.

On saturday was able to get to 5900 rpms and around 65 mph. Was on a very small lake and had to back off every run, was running out of water very fast.

did you get a written estimate for high pressure fuel pump ? did they tell you that it would be good to replace fuel lines and primer bulb aswell while they were in there ?

Re: Replaced fuel line pump ball and motor now runs ... (The Arch)

    Hi,

Dealer never gave me a written estimate and did not mention replacing the fuel line of primer ball. He wanted to charge me two hours labor to take out and monitor fuel pressure while running WOT with his laptop hooked up to motor. Remember he had my boat and motor for three weeks already. No place up here that is close by that is worth there salt. I'm having to learn all I can and BBNC is such a great resource. I have talked with several guys on the phone who have helped me with suggestions on what to llok for.
