My buddy has this motor on his boat and is having a bit of a issue trying to track down where the air is coming into the line. I say coming into the line because there is zero fuel smell in the bilge.
He pumps up the bulb to pressure and everything runs fine..but as the day wears on the bulb loses pressure. He has checked all lines...every connection that he can lay his hands on to make sure every thing is tight and not leaking.
Just asking incase someone might have that magic answer.
Other than the bulb seeming to losing pressure what other issue is it causing for him to be concerned. It will lose a little pressure compared to when you squeeze it that seems normal.
As soon as you turn the key the fuel pump will kick in for 5 seconds or so to pressurize the vst tank.

the bulb went dry and would not pick up any gas i had to remove the gas line from the motor side of the bulb and it picked up gas right away i put it back together and have not haad alot of problems since. i bought a new bulb and have it just in case. not sure whats going on.
I just replaced my Yamaha bulb with an OEM merc bulb. One of the round stainless clamps around the barb was loose and I could spin it.
