    2005 HPDI tilt trim VZ250TLRD

After screwing around with my tilt /trim for the last 2 days, I guess I have to replace the seals..just ordered $150.00 worth of them. Yahama is proud of their stuff..
When things go wrong they go wrong quick. The motor won't even lift the engine or hold it up.
Is this an easy project or what? I am getting my hands on a spanner wrench tomorrow to get the top housings off the pistons.
Gonna rebuilt that one, but am looking for another for a back up..

I am not a mechanic but I can tell you that my port side trim piston was leaking like crazy. I had a boat mechanic replace all the seals on that piston. It still leaked. Took it to another shop and he looked at it, replaced the top seal. It still leaked.

After avoiding it, I finally took it to a dealer (who was 100 miles away) since it was still under warranty and he looked at it for 2 seconds and within a minute of being on the phone with yamaha he said they will cover it and they will replace the whole thing.

Not trying to discourage you but I hate to see you go through what I just want through and waste a bunch of money. Thing for me was not wanting to be without my boat so I went with someone local. good luck with it and I hope it works out for you!

mine hasn't leaked. It just wouldn't hold pressure or pick the motor up..I pulled the small rods out a few days ago, it was the 2 bottom seals that were toast on one of the pistons, replacement seals should be in this afternoon.

I just bought another unit also, so now I will have a back up just in case, one of those parts, that if it goes down the whole rig goes down with it.
