    Info please

I want to install a water pressure gauge and learn some things about this motor. I think I know where I'm supposed to hook up from reading other posts, just want to be sure. Thanks

This is all the info I can find:
    Johnson 115 Fast Strike
    Outboard Motor Corp.
    Model J115GLEOC
    Ser# GO3886874
    Purchase date 3-14-95

Starboard side cylinder head, remove the brass (pipe) plug to install the adaptor.

I saw the brass plug about 2" from the sparkplug. Right? What kind of gauge or pressure range should I be looking for when I buy the gauge? And what should the pressure be? Thanks!

0-30 psi will work well. That is the plug, make sure not to pinch the hose as you run it to the front. The water pressure guage is the second most important guage in the boat, the first is the tach.

Thanks for the info. Can you tell me what kind of water pressure I should get at idle and then around 5000 RPM? I also think my brass plug we discussed earlier is on port side cylinder head or am I missing something?

Should be a brass plug on either side. May be something else in it? Usually get 5-8 at idle, 15-20 at 5500. Sometimes the guages read a little different. You should be in the ball park. In cooler water, you may get a little higher reading, warmer water , you may get a little lower reading. But , at least now you can get a reading!!!!!!!!!
