2004 Yamaha OX66 250 HP Loss of RPM's

Was out fishing this weekend on Guntersville and zipping across the lake WOT (5900's RPM's). Slowed down to 4500 and got back on the gas and the engine was bogging down and maxed out at 5000 RPMs. Noticed earlier in the day that when idling for more than ten minutes, the low water pressure alarm would go off even though I had good water pressure and was in deep, clean water.

It is at the mechanic right now but not getting looked at until next week. Any ideas?

You should have done a compression check. Hope its something simple but this sounds like you lost a cylinder.
