My 06 250 HPDI cowling rattles when idling. It is in the area where the top piece meets the main piece. I checked the inside and all visual nuts are tight. Any suggestions?

when you find out let me know. ive tried to make mine stop by shimming that piece up with no success.

Are you sure its the cowling and not that large bolt that runs through the jackplate? Just a thought.
It is the cowling. Took it off the motor.
and no we are not the same person, but he does have a good nickname.
I had that proplem with mine it was missing a rubber boot piece that the hood pins go into.

You might try adjusting the "latch catch" to hold the cover on tighter. I had to do that with my 250 ox66 and the rattle went away.
