Hey guys I am looking at buying a boat and it has a 300hpdi vmax on it. Is these motors any good? How is the fuel consumption on them and as well as oil comsumption and how bout reliability? any info would be helpfull. Thanks!

I've had mine for a year, also has H-T phase 3 on it. No complaints at all. Good on gas, probably because I rarely have it any where close to wide open. Have run my 201 Evo to upper 80's, mid 80's loaded to fish with 2 folks. Can't tell it from stockas far as idle and starting.

Dad and friend loves theres no issues and reasonable on the gas for such a big motor.And wow a h-t phase -3 kit and hardly ever close to WOT ,You gotta let that thing eat sometimes don't ya
I've got an 04 and love it. I've never had any problems out of mine but I keep up on all my maintenance, changing filters, decarbon every once in a while etc. The gas consumption is good in my opinion, I had an old Johnson 150 once that was alot worse than the 300. In the past couple of weeks mine has started to idle a little rougher than normal, haven't figured out why yet, but other than that I like mine.
