    HDPI 250 hard on fuel

    Just had my new Yamaha hdpi 250 about 2 months I can,t believe how much gas it uses compaired to my Optimax

    Thats because it has spent less time in the shop. Have you noticed how much faster your going with the HPDI? You can't just measure how many gallons a month you are burning becuse your making more trips. Try comparing gallons per trip.

    i have a 09 21i with 300 hpdi its not to bad on gas but does love the oil lotttttssssssssssss of it i love the boat its the best i have ever been in but wish it had a opti on it but have to run Yamaha for the real money but i will try the sho next time

    takes gas to make all that genuine yamaha power. not like that wussy opti power.

    You will use a lot more gas when not being towed back to the ramp.....

    Yes.....when a motor isn't in the shop every week, it tends to use more fuel.

    Same here and oil consumption as well. Have had my 250 series 2 for 2 yrs and it is very expensive to run. I will be making a change when I can. As for some of the other posts...I fish 2 to 3 times a week at an average of 40-60 miles each time along with 6 and 7 day out of town TX's so this post is not my opinion just real experience...and expensive!
