    water pressure

i have a 2005 225 hpdi last year the water pressure ran at about 13 to 15 psi at wide open. took the boat out today for the second time and the water pressure is now running around 20 psi. any ideas as to why it might be higher than last year. did nothing to the motor.

    Re: water pressure (jimcav)

Does your gauge go back to zero when you turn the motor off or does it stop before then? If it doesnt go back to zero, your gauge may have froze.

Water pressure will also fluctuate as the lake temperature changes. In the winter with water in the 40s or 50s I see 30 PSI, water is now in the lows 70s and it has dropped to about 25, in the dead of summer when the water temp is in the mid 80s it will be 18 or 20 PSI.
