    250 HPDI Trim Noise

When trimming down I sometime hear a popping/grinding sound like the trim is in a bind. This does not happen every time and when it does occur it does not matter whether I turn the motor either way - I checked the motor and it seems the motor is scraping the left side of the trim housing more than on the right. It does not appear to be severe - just noticeably more wear. Does anybody have any thoughts as to why I would be experience this issue.

If you put a good coat of water-proof grease on the end of the trim-rams, and all the mating surfaces of the trim unit, it will usually make all that noise go away.

They all do it when everything gets dry.

I had the same noise coming from my motor. Just about to go to the dealer. I 'll save myself a trip and gas money. Thanks for the advice!

Also, put a light coating of grease on the sides. You can see that area that is getting rubbed in the picture above. It will make the engine come down smoother.
