Check the small resevoir under the cowling. It may not have enough oil in it. If that's the case I think you turn key to the on position and there is a little toogle switch under the resevoir flip it and it will pump oil from the big tank.
GO DAWGS
You should also hear the small oil pump motor running if the on engine tank (the small one) is low. You should hear it running when you turn the switch to on (not start). If not running, check fuse. If running but the flow rate cannot keep up with the consumption rate out of the on engine tank, then check the inline oil filter at the big tank. Easy to change, but can be messy if you still have oil in the main tank. Also try not to get any air in the line if you have to change it. You don't want the on engine tank to starve for oil as that can blow the engine.

Good advise;
If all the above checks, I would also back off the bleeder screw on the oil pump and make sure you have a good flow of oil with no air trapped. Sounds to me like itÂs in limp mode. I would also disconnect the battery and then reconnect and see what happens. Also make sure you have a good fully charged battery and connections.
