    HPDI Oil ?

I have an 07 225 HPDI and run Quicksilver Premium Plus in it. I ran Yamalube but it sure knows how to foul spark plugs and is just dang expensive around here. As I understand it Premium Plus is a synthetic blend. I thought about switching to Pennzoil XLF synthetic blend as its easier for me to find and was wondering if anyone runs that in thier HPDI or had any thoughts on that. I always run some ring free in every tank as well.

Re: HPDI Oil ? (Scott F)

When I bought my Ranger the dealer was a new Yamaha dealer, primarily they sell Mercury. So when they filled up my oil reservoir they put Mercury Premium Plus in it. I really like it so far and I've not changed. It does not smoke at start up, or any time as far as that goes and hasn't fouled any plugs. I pulled a plug just for shits and grins the other day and it looks great so it's not getting real oily like I've heard Yamalube will get. I was thinking about switching to Amsoil but now I'm rethinking that and may stick with the premium plus from mercury.

Plus I can find the premium plus everywhere and the closest place that sells yamalube is 70 miles away, same with Amsoil.
