My motor will overheat if I idle for a while. Just had the impeller replaced. Anyone know what might be causing this?
Thanks

When idling it reads 0 or just slightly above that. But I have plenty of water shooting out of the motor if that matters?
Check your pressure relief valve--if it's stuck open, not enough water gets to the top cylinders, resulting in an overheat.
sounds like poppet
when i do water pumps i also do
-impeller housing
-poppet valve
-thermostats
this^^^^^^...mine has done the same thing. had some pea gravel in poppit valve.
Trust me, I'm pretty damn sure its the poppet valve... Same thing happened to me. replaced impeller and all the other goodies... Engine would still over heat after idling for a while -- finally checked poppit valve and found a little pebble in there... after removing and cleaning it out -- my engine screams and the PSI nearly doubled! :D
Mine had the exhaust gasket leaking. Fixed the problem. The tube from H2O pump to block was also checked for a split![]()
