Leave gas in a four stroke 90?

I left my 90 Four Stroke Carb. model sitting for about 6 weeks. Would not start, unless throttle was advanced to 1/2 throttle. Return to idle, and engine died. Should I run all gas out each time? Cleaned carbs. runs ok, but expensive, and lot of work.

If your going to leave it sit that long, you need to start putting Marine Stabil in your gas and makes sure you run your motor when you put it in, so the gas with Stabil gets in your carbs.
