    lower unit leaking

    My lower unit is leaking at the scew. I've already replace the little o ring and it still leak a little after leaving the boat to sit. any suggestions what it could be? do you think the screw. I've tighted as tight as i can get it.

    Look at both mating surfaces and verify they are relatively smooth and flat. Sounds like there is a burr or something preventing the seal. Do you have the longer magnetic screw in the bottom and shorter one in the top? (not that it matters regarding the seal) You should not have to go “as tight as you can” to seal this. Careful going too tight.

    Probably have a piece of the old seal or junk on the sealing surface of the lower unit...Make sure it is clean and the screw surface is clean and install a new seal and tighten hand tight and it should not leak...
