Hey guys I was in my engine adding oil and I noticed a tube that did not seem to be attached to anything. Any idea at all about what that may be? Question #2 I am going through a lot of oil. How much is normal in one of these engines. I still have less than 100 hours on the motor. Thanks for any ideas you have.
Was it a really thin tube hanging down near the carbs? If so, then it might be a drain tube for the carbs/breather assembly. If you could post a picture it may help someone to identify if it's supposed to be there.
I'll check out my motor after work today and see if it's got a loose tube too or not and let you know. Maybe an overflow ar bypass for something. A pic would be helpful if you can do it.
mine doesn't use that much oil, probably 1 gal. a year, and I run the crap out of it. I was kinda worried about it not getting enough, but it smokes good and has held up for 5 years now so it must be ok.

My guess it's the oil run off connected to the silencer.
