New Etec--need help with transom saver

Hello Fellow Evinrude fans and E-tec afficianados,

I have a brand new 40 horse sitting in the garage waiting for a bit warmer weather and then we will take it out for a "first spin". This motor replaces an old 1993 'Rude that had a rope pull and manual tilt. Now I feel like I have jumped into a time warp and am in the future with the high tech-y-ness of the E-tec.

I am currently installing a transom saver, but have a couple of questions:
    1) What is the best position that the motor should be in while trailering? I currently have it half way between up and down.

    2) Is there a place on the motor where the transom saver should touch the motor? Is there a place where I should not be making this connection?

Thanks in advance for your replies.

    FF

I prefer to have mine about half way up. It doesn't matter too much, just do not store it on the transom saver. Do not pull the tilt down too hard on the transom saver, just enough to support it, you can damage the mounts or the transom saver with too much pressure.
