    1997-2000 yamaha's

I am starting to look for a 97-2000 skeeter zx185 and most i see have yamahas on them in the 150hp--175hp range...is there anything good or bad about this range of year yamaha motors?
Is there a way to tell the hours on the motor for these years? Carbed vs. EFI? any to stay away from or any to look for? thanks

    Re: 1997-2000 yamaha's (chadw)

I sold my 1997 ZX185c with a Pro V150 Yamaha outboard. I can honestly say that the boat and motor were great. The ProV models have proven to be great motors and strong motors as well. I think that Yamaha went to the VMax motors in 1998. The ProV motor that I had was a carbureted motor and it ran very consistent and strong. In fact, the boat and motor are still going strong as I sold it to a good friend of mine. Hope this helps.
