oil leaking from water intake grates

I have a 2000 90 Yamaha. I have lower unit oil leaking from the water intake grates. I just had boat out 2 days ago and after sitting with the motor down there is oil on the floor. I have looked at the archives and believe it may be the seals below the water pump.
Am I headed in the right direction? I am good mechanically, But have never tore into a lower unit. I see alot of posts for the 150-250 horse motors, same basic steps for the 90? Any tips would be appreciated.
