    Tell me your maintenance ritual!

    Hey Guys,
I am a fairly new boat owner. I will have had my boat for 1 year in January. Before the tournament season starts back up I want to perform any necessary maintenance on my Yamaha VMAX HPDI 200HP. I would greatly appreciate it if some of you guys could provide a list of things you like to perform during your yearly maintenance. Could I just take it to my local Yamaha dealer and have them perform the "yearly" maintenance or can I do it myself? Can I find a maintenance manual on Yamaha's website or is there such a thing? I am just looking for any tips I can get to be sure I am treating my engine like it should be.

Thanks in advance for your help!

I would have to disagree with changing the impeller on a regular basis. I hear that a lot but unless you are seeing a drop in pressure it is not necessary or that's my opinion based on personal experience. I have owned 4 new Yammies with the most recent being a 2006 250 hpdi and have changed out 1 impeller that probably was not needed but after 7 yrs did so anyway. Save your money, change the LU oil for sure and plugs only if your motor is missing.
