    Filters for 2007 / 225 HPDI

Have a 07 Yamaha 225 HPDI and I always run RING FREE. It still runs good, but after looking at some of the comments here on the board about the different filters. Just how any are there and can I change all of them or does the dealer have to change some if the motor is under warranty. Want to try and make sure I don`t lean out and blow something. I guess I have about 150 hrs on it now, maybe a little more. And how often would it be advisable to change the water seperator filter that looks like an oil filter. I think Yamaha recommends changing some of the filters at like every 50 hrs, but that can get real expensive if you fish very much.

Well boats are not cheap to have so just add this to the cost of having fun, with that beening said I think you allready answered your own ???

water seperator filter in boat, change every 50 hrs
water seperator filter on motor in clear bowl, change every 50 hrs
Fuel filter in VST tank, change every 100 hrs
Strinner filter on top of the motor, change every 100 hrs

Its really not alot of money if you think about it like this, don't change filters pop power head you eat it 3,000.00 or more, spend 35.00 for parts every 50 hours and then 125.00 for parts every 100 hrs and not void warrnty

Thats true of course. Just never heard of that many filters on a motor before or with changes that frequent. These motors must be real easy to pop.

Not really that they pop any easier than others, the fuel just sucks that bad anymore...

Now I can believe that one, for sure. I always try to take good care of my equipment. I have 3 Yamie motors and no reason to doubt this one is not just as good as the others. So I guess it`s time to change some filters.
