    2004 250 HPDI gearcase

    Damaged the gear case on my lower unit today. Lower unit works fine but case is marked up bad with a chunk missing from skeg. Can the case be changed using the gears in old one?

    Yes, but cheaper to pay a visit to a good prop/LU shop to be filled/welded and skeg rebuilt. Will be as good as new for far less.
