BULL*^#$, Mike. You know it was the 225 OX66.![]()
Any of the OX66 motors, they were great motors.
ProV 150. The early ones were the strongest. Yamaha's bullet proof engine bar none.
i here the motor that i have is one of the best but i have not had it long enough for me to tell.. i thought the vmax were probably the best just cause you see them every where
90 hp 3 cyl. got my vote. Those engines were and still are like tanks!
I'm really hoping it's the 200HP OX66.
2005 G3 HP200 DC with 200hp V-MAX OX66
68.8 gps at 5600 rpm best speed yet
Haven't found a bad one. I've been selling them since 96 and no one engine has had problems to speak of. I will say I haven't ever had a 200 or smaller come back with a powerhead failure.

Im fond of the Yamaha VMax 150 (Carb) they still make.
Very reliable piece and the $7500 street price doesnt hurt.

Ditto on my 04 OX66.... so far so good! KnockonDwood!
OX66 Means Built Like A OX !!! Enrico![]()

The OX66 3.1's are excellent. However the track record says the ol' reliable 2.6L Carb/EFI motors (and they can be tweaked to 350 hp!)![]()
Look in the dictionary under dependable outboard motors, the picture will show the 2.6L Yammie![]()
Yep, I agree. I had a 1992 v4 130 for 16 years. The Yamaha carb motors are bullet proof.
08 Ranger Reata 210
Yamaha VMAX 225 HPDI
I had a 93 pro v 150 that I than the dog out of it and sold it and he is still running it hard. Never put a wrench on it.![]()
