Water Pressure Issues on a 2002 OX66

Ive got a 2002 OX66 250hp, and I was out running yesterday and there was hardly any water pressure. Typically it will run around 20 psi, and yesterday it was barely hitting 10.

Needless to say, it started overheating and made for a rough day on the lake. Is this my impeller going bad? I haven't moved my jackplate or anything like that.

Any ideas what could be wrong?

Plugged intake? Plugged popit valve? Bad water pump? Stuck thermostat?

I checked the intake for debis, and even stuck a straightened out hook in there, and there doesn't seem to be any debris. Should I remove the grate and look inside it?

This wouldn't affect water pressure would it?

Got it fixed! Poppet valve was it!

pb, how much work is it to get the poppit out cleaned and back in?

Not much work at all, but it's tricky to reinstall, seems like you need an extra pair of small hands, and a little luck, but I wouldn't call it hard, just the reinstall is tricky, from my experince....

I would say from start to finish, it took about 30 min. It can be a little tricky to get the poppet "cover" back on, but not too bad.

It was amazing though, there was about 3 pieces of sand and that was it. I put it back together, and I have 20+ psi now.
