I got lucky I guess. A friend of mine had a set of these sitting in his garage from his older basscat/yamaha. He totaled the boat and rigged his yammie on a new cat with cat gauges. I had a spare trolling motor in my garage that he needed because his gator mount was flopping around.

So we traded and I had my gauge in before he even got home to put on the new troller bracket.

    I'm back in shape...

He cant use the troller because it has a 42 in shaft and needs the 50 in for the great lakes. It's a 60 lb MG Tour Edition and he has an 80lb. He dont want to loose that much thrust or shaft length.

    Hi Mike

I assume you know this anyway, but it is important that your pressure hose in the back of the speedo has a nice airtight seal.

If it leaks air, water makes its way up into your speedo diapraghm. If it freezes, it will crack the speedo and fill with water like yours has. They will also rust if water gets up there, same result.

Be sure to cut 10mm off the hose to have fresh hose to tightly put onto the speedo and then put on a clamp or zip tie.

Yes, I know... I did cut some hose off and double zip tie it. I was thinking that it probably did freeze. I have replaced my water pressure gauge 2-3 times from this and I still never put in a "T" to drain it.

    HI Mike

Did you blow it out with a compressor before putting it back on? (Same with WP gauge)

You should not need a T connector to drain it. There should be no joins in the hose forward of the rear of the boat and if it is air tight at the front water just can't get there.

Compressor must be used from the front of the boat, blowing backwards of course. If you get all the water out and seal it, it should not happen again

Yes, I blew it out.... The gauge has been leaking water from the back for 2 years... Not sure if it was at the hose or internally. I cant peek at 80+ mph.
