    Water seperater?

Is it a good idea to have a water seperater installed in a HPDI?

Will it not effect the fuel pressure, going through two fuel filters.

Not really, sure it does cause a little more suction, IIRC my filter said something like 1/2 pound more suction with the filter, which isn't enough to cause problems. I believe HPDI should come with a prefilter now, some have rumored that water is a major factor in a lot of HPDI failures.

My mechanic said that if I found the filter under the hood sucked in, my prefilter was plugging, I rather not wait that long myself.

Raccor makes a gauge to tell you how plugged a filter is, I'm not 100% it can be used on on motors. I think if you paid attention to it, and changed it every year you'll be just fine. I'm sure if it really bothered or scared you you could rig up a vaccum gauge.

If Yamaha says yes, why the hell didn't they they build their engines with it all ready in them. Might have saved me alot of money

Yes, and it's easier to do than one thinks. The hardest part is figuring where you want to mount it. Date the filter too.
